Catalyst Moment of Truth

Helping people create positive change in their career, life & relationships is something I am very passionate about.  My brother-in-law is one of those people and when he was first searching for his new career opportunity after graduate school, I helped him focus on his strengths from college to boost his confidence and add depth to his resume.  He landed a great job, then there was a downsizing after a few short years, so I helped him network for another opportunity.  Unfortunately, the old statistic of people don’t leave their jobs, they leave their bosses came to pass.  Here’s the story in his words:

Over the last six months, I had been searching for a new job. The job I was in had become very trying and frankly depressing. I prayed all the time for the Lord to show me his plan. I knew I had to stay patient, but at times it was very difficult to understand what was taking so long.  In May, I started interviewing for a great position, which would be exciting and rewarding. Luckily, I was offered the position in mid-May and accepted it shortly after. Last Monday morning, I walked into my HR officer’s office and resigned. It was a short conversation and I was in the car heading home within twenty minutes. I looked down at the gas gauge and noticed the car needed gas. So I pulled into the gas station, got out of the car and started pumping gas. I was standing there replaying the conversation I had just had, replaying the last year, replaying the amount of stress my family and I had gone through, replaying how thankful I was God’s plan had shown itself, then out of no where a golf ball rolled along and bumped into my shoe. I glanced down, picked it up and noticed something was written on the ball, “Isaiah 43:18.” I slid it into my pocket, finished pumping gas, and got in the car to Google the verse on my phone. I was blown away when I read it. Whoever you share the story with, I hope it brings them inspiration. Ryan
